The Diagnostics and Control Research Centre (DCRC) was founded in 1998 as a multi-disciplinary research and consultation unit in the Faculty of Science and Engineering at the Auckland University of Technology.

The Centre focuses on serving the industrial community within New Zealand in research, consultation and development, and also has very strong research programs in biomechanical engineering and electroactive polymer applications.
