Vision
Computer and Communication technologies have dramatically changed the world in the last three decades. The cutting edge technologies have been improving our ordinal live, fastening and globalizing businesses, contributing to the change of political and humanitarian face of our civilisation towards democracy and prosperity.
New technologies allowed us to bring the education to a new level of quality significantly extending the opportunity for new generation. Advanced computer and communication technologies have appeared owing the greatest progress made in the fundamental and applied sciences like Physics & Astrophysics, Mathematics, and Chemistry and others.
Now new technologies allow us to make even greater progress in all areas of Science to go to the new stages of journey of the human being in understanding of the Nature and our place in it.
Mission
Advanced Computing and Communication Research Group will focus on three major aspects – research, education, consultancy and commercialization.
In research the main objectives are:
- Develop advanced methods and techniques for computing and communication s that are of high significance in the subject area
- Publish results in international journals and present on the conferences
- Promote internationally the science and technology of New Zealand
- Establish itself both nationally and internationally as a high profile research group
- Attract research funds both national and international
- In education the main objectives are Organise workshops and seminars. Develop new papers at both postgraduate and undergraduate levels
- Attract postgraduate students to work on research projects
- Organize public lectures and lectures for high-school students
- Promote science and technology in New Zealand
In consultancy and commercialization the main objectives are:
- Act as a link between academic research and commercial partners
- Create new intellectual property for the benefit of New Zealand
- Actively seek joint business ventures to further develop and market research ideas and technologies
ACCRG strongly focuses on wide collaboration with other research groups and departments in AUT as well as national and international collaboration.
